In 1895, Harry T. Kingsbury bought the Wilkins company; he quickly abandoned the Wilkins range of toys for his own creations, including aeroplanes, lorries and buses.
In 1942, the company turned its attention to the war industry; after victory, it abandoned toys and manufactured machine tools.
