1881 – 2007
Founded in 1881 by Ernst Paul Lehmann and his cousin Johannes Richter. The company initially produced flywheel-driven tinplate toys, before developing clock mechanisms.
Lehmann became one of the world’s leading toy manufacturers.
With Brandenburg an der Havel in the Soviet occupation zone, Johannes Richter fled to the West in 1948 and in 1951 he and his sons established Lehmann in Nuremberg. From 1968 onwards, the company developed LGB outdoor trains.
The company went bankrupt in 2007.
